The Opportunity
A rock band with deep roots in New York City’s 1970s music scene had a compelling backstory and a growing catalogue of original music, but lacked a cohesive brand identity, a structured digital presence, and a marketing engine to match its ambitions. The band was performing regularly across New York but without consistent visual identity or coordinated promotion planning.
At the same time, the band sat at the centre of a broader multi-platform entertainment venture — meaning its brand, audience, and credibility needed to work in service of the larger story, not in isolation from it.
The venture engaged Confident Strategy Group to develop and execute the band’s brand strategy, marketing, and creative direction.

Approach:
We delivered a strategic recommendations framework that addressed every dimension of the band’s market positioning — from brand identity and messaging through to digital presence, promotion planning, and audience development.
Brand Identity and Messaging
We clarified the band’s unique positioning, defining it clearly as a rock ’n’ roll band with a distinct narrative rather than an offshoot of other projects. We developed a message map that gave the band a consistent story for venues, audiences, and event organizers — and advised on visual identity consistency and on-stage cohesion to ensure the band presented as a unified, professional act.
Digital Presence, Social Media, and Audience Development
We took on ongoing management of Instagram and Facebook for both the band and the broader venture, executing a content strategy that included regular posting schedules, story promotion, community management, and paid advertising campaigns. We managed and maintained two websites, keeping them current with band personnel, event listings, new music, and podcast updates. Our website and social media strategy also incorporated outbound outreach for venue bookings and a fan engagement framework with structured promotion planning to grow the live audience.
We also established a merchandise shop on the band’s website, creating an additional revenue stream tied directly to the brand.
Music Production and Release Strategy
We identified and onboarded a Grammy Award-winning record producer, managing the engagement and logistics of the recording process. This resulted in five singles released to date — including the podcast theme song — with three further tracks in production. We oversaw the art direction for each single’s cover artwork in coordination with the creative director we brought on to lead the venture’s visual identity, and managed the press and promotion around each release to build momentum and industry visibility.
Creative Development
We coordinated the creative director responsible for the venture’s full visual identity — ensuring consistency across album artwork, single releases, social media assets, live event advertising, and press materials. We commissioned and managed a professional photoshoot that produced assets for use across all productions, from digital channels to investor materials.
Impact:
The band now operates with a clear, differentiated brand identity, a professional digital presence, and a marketing infrastructure that supports both its own growth and the broader entertainment venture it anchors.
Our work established the social media channels that now reach over 17,000 followers across the venture’s platforms, created a consistent visual identity across all productions, built the promotional engine that supports ongoing audience development and live event attendance, delivered five professionally produced singles under a Grammy Award-winning producer, and introduced a new merchandise revenue stream.
